Become a miniature artist in this workshop to create beautiful vases using hand building techniques. Design your work of art to be functional (like to hold tiny dried flowers) or simply as a reflection of your personal taste. There is no specific shape that you must create during this workshop, so go crazy experimenting with different silhouettes! Decorate your tiny vase as a beautiful complement to your fabulous kitchen with our over 100 colour choices! All materials and instruction are always included in our workshop fees. Bring your best ideas and your patient instructor will help you along every step of the way. In this workshop you will learn how to: ~ Pinching technique ~ Surface finishing techniques ~ Decorating with stamps, slip, and texture tools ~ Finish surfaces to minimize sharp areas Our clay discovery classes have been curated to teach the basics of hand building. You will be amazed with what you can make with just your hands and some clay! This is a great introduction to pottery without making a multi-week commitment. All discovery classes are adaptable for beginners or those with more advanced skills and experience. After this workshop your piece will be bisque fired and then you can return to glaze the piece during one of our "Glazing 101" workshops which is included in the cost of your class! It is a one-hour intro to glazing that will teach you how to glaze the piece you have made. Alternatively, you may choose a single color that we will glaze for you. After glazing the piece will be glaze fired, and you can expect your piece to be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after you have glazed. We will always contact you via email to pick up.
